My mom, Loїs Williams, who has died aged 98, was a social work group chief, an actor, a founder member of the Nationwide Childbirth Belief, and a lifelong campaigner for human rights, justice, peace and equality.
Her performing profession started with the Entertainments Nationwide Service Affiliation in 1945, adopted by many repertory theatre excursions and seasons on the Shakespeare Memorial theatre in Stratford alongside Paul Scofield and Joss Ackland. Loїs is survived by her 4 youngsters, eight grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and her sister, Elizabeth. Her brother, Alan, died in 1994.
