Michel Rocard, former prime minister of France has died


French media report that former Prime Minister Michel Rocard has died in a Paris hospital. He was 85.

Rocard was a member of the Socialist Get together and a staunch advocate of the European Union. He served as prime minister from 1988 to 1991 below President François Mitterrand.

He was credited for championing socialist agenda whereas additionally embracing market economic system.

Rocard died on Saturday, in accordance with an AFP report that cited his son.

French President and a fellow socialist, François Hollande, hailed Rocard in a Twitter submit as a “reasonable dreamer, a radical reformist, pushed by concepts, the destiny of the planet and human future.”
