A celebration of her life will be held in Canadian sometime in the spring, and will be announced at a later date. Harriet was born on Jan. 1, 1919, in Alberta, Canada, and as a young girl traveled to Texaswithherfamilyasherstepfatherassisted in building Route 66. She was a longtime resident of Canadian and a member of the Canadian First United Methodist Church. In 2002, she moved to Canyon Lake to be closer to her children. In 2013, she moved to Gruene Senior Living in New Braunfels, where she remained until her death. Harriet was a loving mother, grandmother, and beloved friend. She loved fishing, reading, and playing bridge. Most of the time, she caught the most fish and succeeded in beating almost everyone at bridge, which she continued to play into her late 90s. She was known as the best dressed from head to toe by the residents of Gruene Senior Living and was beloved by all that knew her. Harriet is survived by her children: Donald Longhofer and wife Mary, Marvin Ray Longhofer and wife Sharon, and Karen Baker and husband Jim; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her stepson, Jim Ramp, five step-grandchildren, and one step-greatgrandchild; stepson, George Rogers and wife Merian; and stepdaughter, Barbara Crowder, and five step-grandchildren.
